Built for radio lovers, by a radio lover

GrabRadio is a DVR for internet radio — record any station, listen back whenever you want, from any device.

The story

I kept missing my favorite radio shows because life gets in the way. A program starts at 7am, or noon on a Tuesday, and unless you happen to be free right then, you miss it. Podcasts solved this for on-demand audio, but live radio is different — the spontaneity, the hosts, the local feel. I didn't want to give that up.

Existing solutions were clunky, expensive, or just didn't work reliably with internet radio streams. The few tools that existed felt like they were designed by engineers for engineers, not for someone who just wants to catch a show they missed.

So I built GrabRadio — a simple DVR that just works. You tell it what to record and when, and it handles the rest. No fussing with stream URLs or cron jobs. Just your shows, waiting for you when you're ready.

How it works

GrabRadio records radio streams on a server — your phone, laptop, or tablet doesn't need to be on. You schedule a recording (or kick one off manually), and a server on the other side of the internet tunes in and captures the audio for you.

Once a recording finishes, the audio is stored securely in the cloud. You can listen directly from the GrabRadio app in your browser, or subscribe to your personal podcast feed and have every recording show up in your podcast app of choice — just like any other podcast.

There are no proprietary formats or lock-in. Your recordings are plain audio files, accessible from any device.

What we believe in

Simple by design

GrabRadio does one thing well. There's no social layer, no algorithm, no notifications demanding your attention. Record a show, listen to it later. That's it.

Privacy-first

No tracking, no ads, no selling your data. We collect only what's needed to run the service. We use essential cookies only. We don't know what you listen to beyond what's necessary to deliver it.

Fair pricing

The free tier is genuinely useful — not a stripped-down teaser. Paid plans unlock more storage and longer recording history, but the core experience is free. Upgrades are priced to be affordable, not extractive.

Built in the open

GrabRadio is a solo project. One developer, one mission. That means slower feature development sometimes, but it also means you're dealing with a real person who cares about this working well. No VC pressure, no growth-at-all-costs mentality.
